The Mark Twain House: A Cultural Attraction
Mark Twain and his family lived in Hartford for 17 years. His home is now a museum and a popular attraction. According to the Museum website, “Mark Twain and his family enjoyed what the author would later call the happiest and most productive years of his life in their Hartford home.”

Samuel Clemens’s house was located in a neighborhood called Nook Farm, where many other authors, including Harriet Beecher Stowe, also lived.
